Biography

My name is Jill Janoff. I have been playing the flute professionally since graduating with a Master of Arts in Flute Performance from The College of New Jersey in 1983. Together with guitarists, harpists, pianists, organists, chamber ensembles, orchestras, vocal soloists and choral groups, I have performed music for many kinds of occasions and celebrations. I specialize in wedding ceremonies and receptions, church services, memorial services, conferences, and private and corporate events. My repertoire includes classical, popular, jazz, show tunes, sacred and holiday selections.

In May 2000 after eighteen years in the business world, I decided to pursue my dream of playing music full-time. As a result, BellaFlautaMusic.com was born. My desire is to provide you with beautiful flute music that enhances and enriches the most memorable moments of your life.

My own story began in the Philadelphia area where I studied flute with jazz specialist Richard Gigger, Jr. and the legendary Ardell Hookins Bowers, the first female graduate of the Curtis Institute's Woodwind Department. In college I studied with Mary Louise Veremeychik of College Misericordia, in the Wilkes-Barre, PA area. I earned a Bachelor of Religious Education in Church Music from Clarks Summit University.

At The College of New Jersey I obtained my Master of Arts in Flute Performance while employed by the Department of Music as a Graduate Assistant. During that time I studied with Dent Williamson and presented my Graduate Recital. My recital program included the Duo for Flute and Piano by Aaron Copland, Sonata For Flute and Piano by Francis Poulenc, Gran Duetto Concertante for Flute and Guitar by Mario Giuliani, the Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano (with acoustic bass and percussion) by Claude Bolling and the Entr'acte for Flute and Guitar by Jacques Ibert.
